Stop cheating us Micromax!

Many people are reporting in the facebook groups and forums that various apps are installed silently in Micromax devices without the prior permission of the user. They also mentioned that ads are appearing in the notification panel very often.
Unfortunately, Micromax is doing this intentionally. And the worst part is, most common user don't even care about this problem or doesn't even know how to fix.

This resulted from the Micromax replacing the "software update" app (which gives the updates to the device firmware) and adding a "custom" software update app, which has the capability to install apps in the background by using shell commands without the knowledge of the user. This is pretty annoying. This uses up the cellular data of the users, without their consent.
Some of the installed app are newshuntquickrsnapdeal, etc.

The temporary solution to fix this issue is to root the device and freeze the software update app. This is not advisable as it ripps off the warranty of the product. Again, they are also earning a handsome amount of money by doing this. Above all, it's a major security issue.

Sign this petition below, made by me asking Micromax to fix this issue:

The Temporary Solution

1. ROOT YOUR DEVICE
2. INSTALL LINK2SD APP
3. FIND 'SOFTWARE UPDATE' APP FROM THE LIST
4. CLICK ON THE DROP DOWN MENU AND CHOOSE FREEZE.

XDA author diamondback decompiled the software update app and gave a detailed account about the same over here.
